Yves Rausch is a suspected gunman whos nicknamed “Rambo” has been arrested after a five-day manhunt in Germany’s Black Forest.
Yves Rausch, 31, fled into the forest near Oppenau after a confrontation with four police officers that ended with him pulling a gun and taking their weapons.
The BBC reported that when officers found Rausch, he was investigating reports of a man hanging around a hut in the forest.
More than 2,500 officers scanned forests using thermal detectors and dogs.
Rausch was found hiding in a bush with four pistols in front and an ax on his lap.
“I am very relieved – I think a line can be drawn under a truly extraordinary situation for our small town,” said the Mayor, Uwe Gaiser, according to the BBC.
Ten years ago, Rausch served three years to shoot a woman with a crossbow in a young center; Last year, the BBC found it had child pornography while being investigated about possessing explosives.
