Yulia Navalnaya is the wife of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, who is being treated for suspected poisoning at a Berlin hospital, visited her husband Sunday, according to the Associated Press.
Mr Navalny was visited by his wife, Yulia Navalnaya, and a top aide on Sunday in a Berlin hospital where he is being treated by German doctors.
His family and medics would not comment on his illness or treatment while they await the results of extensive diagnostic tests, although Sky’s defence correspondent Alistair Bunkall said he “suspects we will hear more as the days go on”.

Navalny, who flew from Siberia to Moscow on Thursday, fell ill during the flight, causing the plane to make an emergency landing in Omsk, Siberia. His assistant said Navalny was drinking black tea at an airport café.

Navalnaya pressed for her 44-year-old husband to fly to Berlin for treatment. Upon his arrival on Saturday, the hospital spokesperson Manuela Zingl told AP that he will undergo extensive diagnostic tests and will not comment on his disease or treatment until doctors evaluate the results. The AP’s report did not include a time frame for this.
On Saturday, Russian health officials, who initially did not allow the Navalny to fly to Germany, said there was no poison in the system of tests.
Before the decision to allow treatment in Germany on Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the government would help facilitate the movement and wished Navalny “a speedy recovery”.
Peskov said the government would investigate if toxicology reports show Navalny was poisoned.
The case received international attention.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron expressed concerns over the Navalny’s situation last week.
US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden also said that Navalny’s “coma after being poisoned” was “unacceptable.”
The US Embassy in Moscow stated that it is monitoring the situation.
“If it’s true, the suspected poisoning of the Russian opponent Aleksey # Naval represents a dire moment for Russia and the Russian people deserve to account for all involved. “Our thoughts are with his family,” said Rebecca Ross, spokesperson for the US Embassy, in a tweet.
