Her Mother Patricia “Tee” Fitzgerald was found dead in her home in Olathe, Kansas, which is in the 10200 block of South Shadow Circle. Police said they identified the suspect and victim in the case a few days later. Fitzgerald was then arrested and is being held at Johnson County Jail on a $500,000 bond, according county jail records.
Patricia Fitzgerald, of Montgomery, Texas, was pronounced dead at the residence from an apparent stab wound, police announced Tuesday.
“A 38-year-old white female, known to the victim, was contacted on the scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries,” police said. “This case remains under investigation by the Olathe Police Department.”
The elder Fitzgerald was in the process of moving back to the Kansas City area after living for several decades outside of Houston, her brother Gary Hunziker told the Kansas City Star. He was unable to provide additional details surrounding his sister’s death.
“We were shocked,” Hunziker said. “It doesn’t matter the circumstances – the loss of a sister is what it’s all about.” Fitzgerald is set to be arraigned on Thursday, KMBC reports.
According to her mother’s obituary, she was born on March 27th, 1951, in Kahoka, Missouri. She graduated from Physical Therapy School in 1973 before meeting the man who would become her future husband, Harlon Hunziker.
