Valerie Van Ost Husbands, Married
A sad goodbye to beautiful Valerie Van Ost, who passed away this week. Valerie gave up her successful acting career to become a respected casting director, and was beloved in both professions. She will be much missed. #RIP #CarryOn pic.twitter.com/WHSEOR77gg

She has been married to Andrew Millington since 1985. She was previously married to Greg Smith. Smith had been the producer of Britain’s other great bawdy comedy series, the “Confessions” series of movies in the 1970s.
Valerie Van Ost Early Life, Acting Career
Sad to hear we’ve lost Valerie Van Ost, she appears in my favourite ever film, Carry On Doctor, her early scenes in that film are a joy. She was also in Cabby, Don’t Lose Your Head and Again Doctor. Methinks I’ll have to pop Carry On Doctor on later in the lasses memory. RIP. pic.twitter.com/KuE0vCGttg

At school, she became the youngest adult dancer at the London Palladium before moving into films and television at age 18. She memorably appeared as the dim-witted Penny in an episode of The Avengers entitled Dead Man’s Treasure, and a year later was considered for the part of Diana Rigg’s replacement as Steed’s sidekick. Her other film roles included The Beauty Jungle (1964), Mister Ten percent (1967), Corruption (1968), The Smashing Bird I Used to Know (1969), Incense for the Damned (1970), and the Hammer horror film The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973). She retired from performing in 1982 to form a casting company with her husband, Andrew Millington.

Just read that Valerie Van Ost, instantly recognisable from Carry On Doctor, has died. She was also in The Satanic Rites of Dracula for @hammerfilms and later, under her married name Valerie Millington, became a casting director. She was a lovely lady. RIP #ValerieVanOst pic.twitter.com/f7LhfcjBCS
