In 2018, TobyMac told the Tennessee that the song “Scars” was about his changing relationship with his son. The song appeared on the album “The Elements”. The rapper said the couple’s relationship began to change when McKeehan moved out of the family home. TobyMac described his home as a “safe haven” and his son “went and looked this world in the eye … seeing how he was hurt and hurt is not easy.” The song “Scars” wanted his son to know that he is not alone.
Christian rapper TobyMac’s oldest child has died suddenly, a representative confirmed, but few details about the death were released immediately.

“Truett did pass away at home in the Nashville area sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning,” the rep said in a statement issued Thursday morning to USA Today Network — Tennessee.
The Davidson County Medical Examiner’s office said Truett died Wednesday but would not provide any further details.
“Cause of death has not been determined. Toby was traveling back from Canada and did not get home to be with his family until after midnight last night so there is no statement. We just ask that everyone please be respectful of their privacy during this time and allow them to grieve their loss.”
“I hope you are having the time of your life with the big guy in the sky,” one wrote.
Another message read: “Love you Tru you lit up a room and you were always so excited about life. You touched a lot of people and I will always remember how you made me feel. I just know you and the big homie are up there jamming right now.”

McKeehan launched his latest Instagram post on October 19. The post was a video of McKeehan’s appearance. In the headline of the video he wrote: “Last night, everything came together in some way. Thank you very much to everyone who has supported me through Dick and Dünn.” As the news of his death spread, fans and friends rushed to the post office to pay their respected costs.
