Todd Joseph Simmerman Wiki – Todd Joseph Simmerman Biography

A convicted Florida sex offender was convicted of having sexually incarcerated girls, including a teenager she hired as a babysitter.
STL News reported that 30-year-old Todd Joseph Simmerman hired a 15-year-old girl in 2019 at the Cocoa Village computer repair store while working to babysit her kids. She initially contacted the girl through Snapchat and eventually got her into illegal sexual activity.
U.S. District Judge Roy B. Dalton, Jr. Has sentenced Todd Joseph Simmerman (30, Titusville) to 60 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting two minors and committing the offenses while required to register as a sex offender. The court also ordered Simmerman to forfeit the electronic device he had used to commit the offenses.
Simmerman had pleaded guilty on January 27, 2020.
According to court documents, in 2013, Simmerman pleaded guilty to traveling to meet a child to engage in unlawful sexual conduct, after using a computer to lure a child, in violation of Florida law. As part of his sentence, he was required to register as a sex offender. Six months after completing his state sentence, Simmerman met a 15-year-old on Snapchat and enticed the child to engage in sexual activity. The child victim introduced Simmerman to a 15-year-old friend and Simmerman also preyed upon that child. Simmerman used his cellphone to record his sexually abusive encounters with both victims, which occurred over a period of about five months, until his arrest.
“This repeated child predator will spend the rest of his natural life in prison, thanks to HSI special agents and our partners at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office,” said HSI Orlando Assistant Special Agent in Charge David J. Pezzutti. “While we cannot undo the damage of his horrible crimes, we hope that this sentence helps with the healing process for his victim.”
In November 2019, Simmerman was arrested after the babysitter delivered clear text messages and photos. The officials then called Simmerman’s phone and found a video showing that he had sex with the babysitter, among other incriminating evidence.
The arrest of Simmerman came after the 2013 incident, where he met a child for illegal sexual behavior after deceiving the victim while using his computer. In the ABC 9 report, part of his sentence required him to be registered as a sex offender.
Simmerman apparently wrote a letter to a judge while he was in prison for the 2013 incident and announced that he was HIV-positive.
“While I was imprisoned, I learned that I was HIV-positive, that I was a terrible blow to change my life.”
Six months after completing his sentence for the 2013 incident, Simmerman met the babysitter online and again began to engage in illegal sexual behavior.
In January 2020, Simmerman was convicted of the 2019 incident. On Monday, US District Judge Roy B. Dalton, Jr. He sentenced Simmerman to federal prison terms for 60 years for exploiting both children.
“We hope this sentence will help the healing process for its victims, although we cannot take back the harm of their terrible crimes,” said David J. Pezzutti, HSI Orlando Special Representative for Responsibility.
