Timothy Tufts Wiki – Timothy Tufts Biography

A police officer in Massachusetts resigned after allegedly carving a swastika on another officer’s personal vehicle.

Marblehead Police Chief Robert Picariello said on Wednesday that Timothy Tufts, a 30-year-old retired seafarer and veteran, was accused of engraving a hate symbol on a colleague’s car paint over a year ago.

The chief said the case was reported in mid-November and Tufts was on leave during the investigation.

“I was horrified and deeply disturbed by this incident,” Picariello wrote. There is no room for ignorance today. The swastika is a symbol of hatred and genocide, and whenever and wherever we meet it, we must speak out against hate and hate speech. ‘

The chief said his department had hired an outside investigator to examine the case and was asked to provide training from the New England Anti-Defamation Association.

The chief’s statement continued: “I apologize to our community for this deeply disturbing and unfortunate situation, and I promise to do everything and use every available resource to ensure that this type of event does not recur in the future.

The Marblehead Police Department is committed to equality and respect for human rights and human dignity. This incident does not represent the dedicated, decent men and women at our agency. ‘

Tufts joined the Marblehead Police Department in March 2016 after earning an associate degree in criminal justice.

According to his LinkedIn profile that has since been deleted, Tufts is a retired US Marine serving in Afghanistan in 2011, according to Salem News.

The town’s board members said they were pleased to hear Tufts’ resignation. A statement from the Selectmen Board reiterated the police chief’s words, insisting that the former officer ‘s behavior’ in no way reflected the values of the department ‘.

‘We are deeply disappointed to learn about this event, which is a direct contradiction to the spirit of inclusion we value our community,’ the board said.

DailyMail.com reached out to the Marblehead police on Thursday and asked to comment on the possible reason behind the officer’s decision allegedly defacing his colleague’s car with a swastika.

According to Wicked Local, Tufts made the local news in June of this year when he responded to a report about a racist note left in a couple’s car on Front Street in Marblehead.
