Commissioner Emeritus Bud Selig said: “Along with baseball fans everywhere, I am terribly saddened by the passing of Hall of Famer Joe Morgan. Joe was great in many ways. He was a great player. He was a great representative of the game. And from a personal point of view, he was a great friend. My wife Sue and I will miss him, and we send our condolences to his family and friends. ”
Morgan is the sixth Hall of Famer to pass away in 2020. The others are Tom Seaver, Whitey Ford, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock and Al Kaline.
