He grew up on a pig farm outside of Garfield and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1989. In high school he got to know his true love, Kim (Sczublewski). The couple were married on July 1, 1995 in Our Lady of Seven to Dolor’s Catholic Church in Millerville. The couple lived at a dairy east of Millerville, where they raised their five children. Her children were a big part of his life; He loved watching them play hockey and showing cattle, sheep and pigs in 4-H. Family was important to Steve and it showed in everything he did. He owned and ran Boesl Dairy with his father and four brothers. He particularly liked being with the family. He taught his children, nieces and nephews how important it is to work hard and to be a good person.
