Steve Cash was an American Youtuber known for his “Talking Kitty Cat” videos. He died on April 16, 2020 at the age of 40 by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In September, Cash talked about his battle with mental illness, as noted by TMZ, which reported he died by suicide. When a fan said, “You’ve been so active on social media lately that at first I thought you were hacked.” He answered back, “Nah, just bipolar. I’m on a manic up right now. When I go back into depression I’ll vacate everything.”
Around the same time, Celia posted about both of them being sick. “Not cool!! Not cool, when we’re ALL sick in the house. Who’s going to take care of my Baby aka Steve Cash?” she wrote in September. “Who’s going to take care of me? Lol. We’re so screwed! Send positive vibes. Thank you everyone!!”

Steve was married to Celia DeCosta Cash. It is not clear when the couple got married but in September 2019 he posted a photo to his Instagram showing a registration plate that read, “MRSCASH.” He captioned the post, “My wife’s custom license plate at the DMV.”

Cash was best known for his “Talking Kitty Cat” series on Youtube where he engaged in funny “conversations” and situations with his cat, Sylvester. The series featured 69 different videos, the first of which was shared in 2008, and the last of which was uploaded by Cash in December.

Steve struggled with mental health, in November 2019 he posted a video on his Facebook page explaining that he was in the middle of a manic episode. He revealed that he goes into a depressive episode and stops posting content.

Steve Cash died on April 16, 2020. His death was confirmed by his wife Celia through a Facebook post which read; “This is so hard. I’m not even sure what to say or for that matter, what to do. I just lost my best friend, my sidekick, my lover, my mentor, my absolute everything, this morning. I’m so sad to say, my husband, Steve Cash took his own life this morning… It hurts me to share this. Please understand, give the family time to grieve, but know that Steve is no longer in pain.”

Steve died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to the Nampa Police Department, Cash was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Idaho. The police said there was no indication of foul play.
