Legan, 19, wore military fatigues to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, 30 miles south of San Jose, on Sunday before opening fire with a semi-automatic assault rifle. Police have now surrounded his home, around a mile away from the scene of Sunday’s killings, and are said to have recovered a note, but have not released its contents.

Legan has an Instagram page with just three posts. The one most disturbing appears to have been posted shortly before the shooting.
The teenager, who describes himself as Italian Iranian on his now-deleted Instagram page, is said to have told people he was ‘very angry’ while opening fire. His victims included six year-old Steven Romero, who was enjoying a day out with his family when he was killed. Eleven other people were injured. Screenshots from the Instagram account said to belong to Legan saw him post about a notorious book called Might Is Right, written by Ragnar Redbeard and published in 1890. The manifesto has since been adopted by misogynists and white supremacists. It claims that a woman and family are the property of a man, and also proclaims the innate superiority of the Anglo-Saxon race.

Police Investigation Reports, Statements
Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said officers killed the suspect within minutes of the first shots ringing out, according to CBS.
He said the gunman used “some sort of tool” to cut a fence and sneak in to the event, avoiding metal detectors at security checkpoints, and appeared to randomly target people when he opened fire just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Smithee said.
Legan had shouted at witnesses that he was shooting because he was “very angry.”
Meanwhile, on Monday, President Trump called the shooting a “wicked murder.”
“We grieve for their families … we’re praying for those who are recovering right now in the hospital,” Trump said just before signing the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund bill into law at a White House ceremony. “We will continue to work together as communities … to stop evil.”
