Roger Stone Biography

Roger Jason Stone Jr. is an American political consultant, author, lobbyist, strategist, and convicted felon known for his use of opposition research, usually for candidates of the Republican Party. Since the 1970s, Stone has worked on the campaigns of Republican politicians including Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Jack Kemp, Bob Dole, and Donald Trump.

In addition to his frequent job as a campaign consultant, Stone was previously a political lobbyist. In 1980, together with Paul Manafort and Charles R. Black Jr., I founded a lobbying firm based in Washington, DC. The company recruited Peter G. Kelly and was renamed Black, Manafort, Stone, and Kelly in 1984. In the 1980s, BMSK became a leading lobbying firm, using its connections in the White House to attract high-paying clients, including US corporations, trade associations, and foreign governments. Until 1990 he was one of the most important lobbyists of American companies and foreign organizations.

Stone was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, son of Gloria Rose (Corbo) and Roger J. Stone. He grew up in Lewisboro, New York, in a family of Hungarian and Italian descent. His mother was a reporter from a small town, his father was a well driller and a business owner. He described his family as Catholic bourgeois workers.

Stone said he joined politics in 1960 as an elementary student to move forward with the presidential campaign of John F. Kennedy, “I remember going through the cafeteria line and telling every child that Nixon was at school on Saturdays. It was my first political trick. ”

As a junior and vice president of the student government at his high school in northern Westchester County, New York, he manipulated the president’s overthrow and succeeded him. Stone recalled how he had requested the presidential election in his last year:

The adviser to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, Roger Stone, was found guilty of lying in Congress, disability and witness manipulation.

The court heard that he had lied about his efforts to get more information about when WikiLeaks 2016 would publish harmful emails about Hillary Clinton.
