Patrick Key was a beloved elementary school teacher died on Christmas Day after battling COVID-19, his wife confirmed.
Patrick Key was a teacher at Hendricks Elementary School and has been infected since he was hospitalized on November 15, according to a GoFundMe page set up for his family.
The 53-year-old was receiving a ventilator and life support at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
“Heaven has won the sweetest angel,” Priscella Key said in an email. “Dear Patrick, he lost his fight with COVID-19. He fought long and hard, but his body was too tired to continue.”
He said he wanted people to know that deaths from COVID-19 are not just numbers.
“I would love to let the world know that the number of people who died from COVID-19 are not just numbers, but real people whose families are heartbroken,” he said.

“If you spend time with your family today, I hope you value it, but I also hope you are safe and smart to protect yourself and others,” her niece Heather Welch said in a statement. Said.

Patrick survived his wife Priscella Key, a primary school teacher at a different Cobb school. He was also infected with COVID-19 at the time.
He is a 23-year senior member of the Cobb County school system. He was currently teaching painting at the Powder Springs school.
“The world has lost one of the kindest, kindest loving men. Our family has lost our world and my heart has been shattered,” said Priscella.
