Orson and Orrin West Missing: During a Tuesday press conference, the California City police chief said he thinks that foul play is involved in connection with two boys who reportedly disappeared earlier this month.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Orson and Orrin West, 3 and 4, were last seen on December 21 at around 5:45 pm in a house on the 10700 block of Aspen Street in California City.
KTLA 5 reports that the kids’ adoptive father, Trezell West, said the children were playing in the backyard while he briefly went out to open a door and collect wood. Jaqueline West, the boys’ adoptive mother, said she was packing the gifts.
At ABC 23’s previous press conference, Trezell West announced that he accidentally left the door open after collecting wood.
I open the back door, throw the wood and bring it into the house. My wife was inside, actually packing gifts, so we thought it was a good idea for the youngest two of us to go out and play with chalk on the back porch, ”said West.
“I noticed I left the back door open and I panicked and entered the house, searched the house, me and my wife. When that didn’t work, I got into the van, looked out into the street from both directions, it was getting dark and cold. ”
Trezzel West said he called 911 after neighbors said they did not see the children.
However, Walker said four agencies, including the FBI, are working on the case, but have yet to determine the separation of the children. He added that since the West family moved to the neighborhood a few months ago, none of the neighbors have seen the children.
Ryan Dean, the boys’ biological mother, also stepped in to help the search. Bakersfield’s Dean said he was planning to take back custody of his kids at one point, but it’s unclear why they were removed from his custody.
Dean said he thought the adoptive parents were hiding information.
“They did something, I feel like they were doing something and they know something. They did something. I feel like my kids are around here. I feel. And I feel like at home and I feel like they’re doing something, ”Dean said.
The West couple reportedly said they understood Dean’s concerns, but had no idea where the children might be.
“This is understandable,” Trezell West said, referring to Dean’s testimony. I used to think the same thing. That’s the point, and if we can find our babies … that’s all I want is to find our babies. ”
On December 29, the authorities issued a second search warrant for the house. Local reporters saw the police carrying many large bags.
The California City Police Department said the disappearance of men is currently being ignored by anyone.
The West couple adopted the men in 2019. They have four more children, two biological and two adopted. Walker said that the couple’s other children are now in CPS care.
“The other four children are being evicted until we determine what happened to the [missing] children,” Walker said.
