Odille had also stated that the support that she had received from her husband, Scott, and the rest of her family had been amazing.

According to Colored South Africa, Peter de Villiers, a former South African selection coach from 2008 to 2011, has given up coaching to be permanently with his daughter and support her during the extremely difficult time.

De Villiers promised his daughter he would be with her at every chemotherapy session and kept his word. He also shaved his head in solidarity.
Peter de Villiers was the first color coach of the South African rugby team and reached the Springboks until the quarter-finals of the 2011 World Cup.
The 62-year-old technician, however, was also noted for his acid comments that made him the main character in several controversies.
