Fontrell Antonio Baines, 31, who uses the stage name Nuke Bizzle, was arrested on federal charges alleging he fraudulently obtained unemployment insurance benefits under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In a statement from the US Southern California Attorney General’s Office on October 16, Baines, 31, said he was charged with illegally receiving unemployment benefits through the Coronavirus Aid, Aid and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).

 

The press release said Baines was a native of Memphis, Tennessee, but now lives in Hollywood Hills in California. Convicted of all charges, including access device fraud, aggravated identity theft, and interstate shipping of stolen property, Baines could face up to 22 years in prison.

Baines has been accused of third-party use of the government program, including stolen identities of people in Los Angeles’ Koreatown and Beverly Hills neighborhoods. Investigators say Baines and others had accessed $ 704,000 cash withdrawals using government-issued debit cards. In the press release, it was stated that Baines has access to 92 different unemployment debit cards with a total of $ 1.2 million stored. According to the researchers, a cash withdrawal took place in Las Vegas. The statement stated that Baines was arrested in the city on September 23 and has eight unemployment debit cards.

 

The latest episode of the press release is dedicated to accusing Baines of boasting of utility fraud in a song called “EDD”. EDD is the initial for the Employment Development Department in California.

In the video for the song, Baines says he does “my mood for EDD.” “Go to the bank with a deck of these,” said Baines as he removed a group of envelopes from the ministry.
