Moustapha Ka Biography – Moustapha Ka Wiki
Moustapha Ka, 23, who investigators believe was Murray’s boyfriend, fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The shooting and murder of a young mother in Crescent Springs was unintentional, according to Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders.
Sanders said 22-year-old Alyssa Murray was shot inside her home on Anderson Road last Sunday.
The prosecutor said Murray died on the spot.
According to Sanders, he was arrested and charged on Sunday for second-degree manslaughter, falsifying physical evidence, and possession of a pistol by the criminal.
Sanders said the allegation of second-degree manslaughter said that the available evidence shows that Murray’s shooting was not intentional.
So far there is nothing to suggest that the couple is not getting along. “Detectives even discovered that the suspect had bought an engagement or promise ring for the victim earlier in the day and hid it with the intention of giving it to him at Christmas.”
According to Sanders, this is the fourth murder case since 2017, in which a defendant killed a friend or loved one while using a gun while drugged.
“This suspect was on the run for a week, so we don’t have a blood sample, but marijuana was clearly visible when the officers entered the house,” he said on the evacuation. “But unlike other cases, this suspect has had multiple crimes before and should never have had a gun in the first place.”
In 2017, Marquil Brooks shot and killed his girlfriend Kelly Cocagne while playing with a pistol after smoking marijuana. Also in 2017, Dhezon Gray shot his friend Zachary Pouncey in the chest while playing with a gun while smoking marijuana. In 2019, David Henry shot and killed his friend Jaden Casey while holding a gun after smoking marijuana.
According to Sanders, all three defendants pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter and were sentenced to prison terms.
Sanders said Kenton County Police are continuing the investigation and asked anyone who had contact with Ka last week to contact Detective Ryan Roessler at 859-356-3191.
Detectives are also looking for a 2006 Honda Pilot whose Ka is black or navy blue and has a KY plate AXB 971. The vehicle is believed to have been abandoned somewhere in Cincinnati, according to Sanders.
Ka was taken to court at Kenton District Court on Monday and is being held in Kenton County Detention Center with a $ 500,000 bond.
Sanders said additional fees could be added or existing wages increased when the case was brought before the Kenton County Grand Jury.
Convicted of all charges, Ka could face up to 20 years in prison.
