Speaking with AL.com on Saturday morning, Longhorns coach Mike White stated: ‘Of course it didn’t look good. We knew she wasn’t OK. She was in a lot of pain going to the hospital.
However, he said Elish was ‘doing well’ following the incident.
White further told WVUA23 that the athlete was ‘in good spirits and sent us a message straight away about the game.’
He added: ‘Obviously, nobody feels worse than Mary Lakopo but those things happen, it was a total accident and she came out and did it for her team.’
