Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin is a Russian economist and politician serving as Prime Minister of Russia since 2020. He previously served as Director of the Federal Tax Service from 2010 to 2020.
On 15 January 2020, he was nominated for Prime Minister of the Russian Federation by President Vladimir Putin Hearings on his appointment and was held in the State Duma on 16 January.
He may not even have had an English-language Wikipedia page on Wednesday morning, but former tax official Mikhail Mishustin is now Russian prime minister.

Mikhail Mishustin was born on 3 March 1966 in Lobnya. His mother is an ethnic Armenian, with roots in the village of Meghradzor, Kotayk Province, Armenia. In 1989,

In 1998, he joined the state service as an assistant for information systems for accounting and control over the receipt of tax payments to the head of the State tax service of the Russian Federation. Then he worked at the rank of Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for taxes and duties, head of the Federal Agency for Real Estate Cadastre within the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and head of the Federal Agency for Managing Special Economic Zones.
In 2008, he left the civil service on his own and returned to business this time in the field of investment.
In February 2009, he joined the personnel reserve of the President of Russia.

On 15 January 2020, President Vladimir Putin nominated Mikhail Mishustin for the post of Prime Minister. This was done after the resignation of Dmitry Medvedev, and the Russian government itself. On 16 January, Mikhail Mishustin was confirmed by the State Duma as Prime Minister. For the first time in history, no MP voted against it. On the same day, he was appointed Prime Minister by President Putin’s decree.
