Melanie Panayiotou Quick Facts You Need to Know
Melanie Panayiotou Age
She was 55 years old.
Melanie had beaten her brother’s friend, Elton John, a few weeks before he died for stating that he was “uncomfortable” with being gay.
Speaking in The Talk, Elton had said: “He was so uncomfortable in his skin because he was gay even though he said he was not.”
But Melanie said that George was “my brother ‘very proud to be gay’, contrary to what he may have read recently.”
The music icon George died at age 53, from natural causes at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on December 25, 2016.
An investigation later revealed that he had died from heart failure and liver disease.
The troubled star left most of his estate of £ 97.6 million to Melanie and Yioda.
George was particularly close to Melanie, a hairdresser, who traveled the world with him at the height of his fame.
In his book, Wham! George Michael and I, Andrew said on Christmas day that he was sending a text message to George to thank him for a gift he sent before receiving a phone call from Melanie.
He wrote: “I honestly thought she was calling to wish me a merry Christmas, or maybe I was with George and the family, and they were calling to organize a meeting.
“Certainly there was nothing to suggest the terrible news that followed: that George had died.”
“The news hit me like a punch in the stomach. It was as if my world had been taken from under me.
“I hung up the phone and, bent by pain, began to sob … I felt overwhelmed by sadness.”
FIGHT WITH FADI
Last year, Melanie and other members of George’s family were involved in a bitter dispute with her boyfriend Fadi Fawaz, for the Wham! the billionaire fortune of the singer.
At that time, Fadi, who found George the night of his death, had locked himself in Michael’s £ 5 million three-bedroom property right next to Regent’s Park.
Later, the family saw him expelled, which caused an uproar that caused great damage to the luxurious house that resulted in Fadi’s arrest.
In July of this year, a source said: “It has been a long process trying to get Fadi out.
“He claims that George told him he could stay as long as he wanted and Fadi thinks it was a good binding contract.”
“But George’s family has finally progressed, which caused his uproar.”

Melanie Panayiotou, 55, was found at her home in North London by her older sister Yioda.
In last month’s edition of The Big Issue, Melanie talked about her hopes for the recently released romantic comedy Last Christmas, inspired by George’s music.
“My family and I hope everyone enjoys the movie, and the music of Yog [George’s] old and new, beautifully interwoven in this fun and easy love and self-love story,” he said.
“As many of you know, Yog loved Christmas and loved the idea of this movie. I’m sure you’ll enjoy watching Emilia [Clark] ‘s incredible light bulb smile, something they share, through the heavenly miles!”
In 1985, Melanie granted an interview to No.1 magazine, in which she described what her brother was like while growing up.
“I don’t think you can say he was his usual type of child,” he said.
“I mean, from what I remember, he was never interested in the kind of things the rest of the boys were, like football and cars and things like that. He wasn’t introverted and wouldn’t say he was shy.” Some people have kissed. I definitely knew what I wanted to do at an early age! ”
Melanie added that she and her brother were very similar. “We can be quite honest with each other and share the same sense of humor,” he said, revealing that fans would bother her with George’s strands of hair.
But “it goes to waste like everyone else,” he said.
