Matthew Dingley is a passenger on the United Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., to Newark who sprinted at the cockpit and began to pound on the door. The passenger, Mike Egbert, said Dingley then attacked a flight attendant who tried to intervene. Other passengers on the plane stepped in to help the attendant and brought the situation under control, Egbert said.

Matthew Dingley was taken into custody after his flight United Express flight from Dulles International Airport landed at Newark. He reportedly began acting erratically during the flight and stormed the cockpit as the plane neared its destination.
Matthew Dingley is accused of assaulting the flight attendant on Thursday evening on a CommutAir flight that was operating as a United Express flight from Dulles International Airport in Virginia to Newark Liberty International Airport, according to a statement from CommutAir Chief Operating Officer Joel Raymond.

Matthew Dingley Charges
Matthew Dingley charged at officers when the plane landed in Newark, sending them falling down the boarding stairs leading up to the plane, Port Authority spokesman Scott Ladd told NJ.com.
Dingley was charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and interfering with transportation. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney, according to the media reports.
