The suspect was restrained by some of his victims and arrested before dawn by officers, police said in a statement.
Eight people were rushed to hospitals in Colorado Springs early Monday after a man went on a stabbing rampage only halted when some of the victims detained the suspect, police said.
Officers responding to the first call located two victims who said the attacker fled the area on walking trails in America the Beautiful Park, police said in a statement. When the officers encountered several more victims, more officers were called in for the search.
Another call came in saying more people had been stabbed, and officers responding to that area found the suspect being detained by some of his victims.

“The male was taken into custody and there is no danger to the community,” the police statement said.
Authorities said the attacks appeared to “be random and there is no known relationship between the suspect and the victims.”
Police said the suspect was a male but provided no other information about him.
Sgt. Shawn Peterson told KKTV that investigators believe the suspect would have continued his assaults without the efforts of those who helped detain him.
