Marlen Ochoa Missing
Marlen Ochoa went missing on 30th April 2019 after leaving Latino Youth High School in Pilsen. police said she may have been driving a black 2002 Honda Civic with the plate AW27865.
According to her family, the surveillance video at the school shows Uriostegui walking off campus alone at 3:06 p.m. and appeared to be texting on her phone.
She is described as 5’3, with brown hair and brown eyes, and sometimes wears a small nose ring. She was last seen wearing a grey sweater, sweatpants and a maroon top with a Latino Youth High School logo on it.
On 2nd May her family held a news conference pleading for her return. Her husband and father of their three-year-old son said he believes he was the last one to speak to Uriostegui the day she disappeared, stating he had been texting her throughout the day.
Her husband said she last texted him around 3 p.m. on the day of her disappearance saying she was tired and couldn’t drive anymore as she was allegedly on her way to pick up her son.
Her mother said the family believes someone kidnapped her and is holding Uriostegui against her will. Her family said they’ve gotten ransom demands from Mexico, but said they don’t believe she is actually there.
Her father Arnulfo Ochoa said; “We know nothing. We’re asking the community to help us find her.”
At the time of her disappearance, she was 9 months pregnant and her due date was May 5.

Marlen Ochoa body was found behind a Southwest Side home, strangled on 15th May 2019. The body was dumped behind the home in the 4100 block of West 77th Place, where it was discovered. This was hours after several people at the home were taken into custody.
According to the Chicago Police Department’s chief spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi, her baby was cut out of her body after she was slain and remains in ‘grave’ condition.
Ochoa-Lopez drove to a home on the Southwest Side where a woman she met through Facebook was offering a double stroller and maybe some baby clothes. Once inside, police say Ochoa-Lopez was strangled and her baby boy cut from her womb.
In the days before her disappearance, Ocha Lopez visited an online Facebook group for mothers, looking for a stroller and baby clothes for her son, due to be born in less than a month. She came into contact with the 46-year-old woman. According to screenshots provided by Ochoa-Lopez’s family, the woman told her “my girl has all brand new boy clothes her son never wore.”

Ocha-Lopez replied; “Yes girl that’s fine thank you so much.”
The woman replied; “No problem girl, I know how it is she was lucky to have two baby showers so she just loves to spread the wealth I’m fine with the help to inbox me for more info ok.”
The case is similar to the murder of another young mother more than 23 years ago. In November 1995 Debra Evans was shot dead before her son was crudely cut from her womb.
Evans’s 10-year-old daughter Samantha was also killed in their Addison apartment, and Evans’ 7-year-old son Joshua was found slain in a Maywood alley. Authorities said Fedell Caffey, Jacqueline Annette Williams and Lavern Ward killed Debra and Samantha, removed the fetus and abducted Joshua, leaving behind another son, 21-month-old Jordan.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Ochoa-Lopez’s death was a homicide. The cause of her death was ligature strangulation.

Ocha-Lopez baby was cut out of her body before she was slain. On the day of her disappearance, April 23 at around 6 p.m the Chicago Fire Department received a 911 call from the home where Lopez body was found. The dispatcher said;
“The caller gave birth 10 minutes ago, forty-six years of age. The baby isn’t breathing. The baby is pale and blue. They are doing CPR.”
Larry Merritt, a department spokesman said the baby was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A source said that the baby “was basically blue” when paramedics arrived and that the “mother” was taken to the same hospital. It was not known who that woman was since according to police Ochoa-Lopez was already dead.
The baby was placed in the intensive care unit, where he remains. The family has said the boy has no brain function, apparently from lack of oxygen.
Ochoa-Lopez’s family said the police told them that the DNA samples from the baby were a match with DNA extracted from the teen’s toothbrush and hairbrush. The family has been visiting the baby at the hospital, and the father has named the boy Yovani Yadiel Lopez.

Social media posts revealed that the suspects, who have not yet been charged or named by police, have been posting online in recent months about the arrival of a baby boy, decorating a nursery and seeking out expectant mothers on Facebook.
They are suspected in the death of Marlen Ochoa-Uriostegui, a 19-year-old married mother whose body was found in a trash can behind their house on Wednesday.

Ochoa-Uriostegui had been lured to the home after one of the suspects, a 46-year-old woman she met on Facebook, offered to give her free baby’s clothes.
Authorities said she was strangled to death before her baby was cut from her womb.
The teen’s baby boy Yadiel is now in the custody of Ochoa-Uriostegui’s husband, and is in the hospital fighting for his life.

In the following days, after the baby was taken to hospital, the residents of the home on 77th Place apparently set up a GoFundMe page for the baby, according to screenshots provided by Ochoa-Lopez’s family.
The 46-year-old woman in custody organized the fundraising drive, which sought $9,000. The page featured the picture of a small baby hooked up to a breathing tube and monitors.
