What a wonderful, warm piece by Marina Wheeler. She must be superhuman to have survived both cancer and divorce from her husband, Boris Johnson. So glad she has a fabulous sister and four great kids to love and look after her. https://t.co/etCBDCgNQg

Marina Wheeler Career
After Cambridge, Wheeler returned to Brussels and worked there for four years. In 1987 she was called to the Bar, practicing from chambers in London at One Crown Office Row. My own experience, shared by many colleagues, is that a high proportion of discrimination cases we deal with are ill-founded. Marina Wheeler, the estranged wife of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has revealed how she was diagnosed with cervical cancer three months ago.
The 54-year-old has thanked her children and sister for their ‘wonderful’ support as she battled cervical cancer diagnosis.
At the time of her diagnoses, Boris was fighting to become the prime minister while living with 31-year-old girlfriend Carrie Symonds.
Ms Wheeler told The Sunday Times that her sister, Shirin, and four children were central to her recovery following her all-clear in July.
She was the second wife of the current resident of 10 Downing Street, and the couple share four children. They married in 1993 and separated in September last year.
Ms Wheeler has spoken of the importance of regular cervical screening, or smear tests, after a routine check in January revealed the problem which led to procedures in June and July.
‘I know the take-up of smear tests is way down,’ she said. ‘I know they can save your life.
‘The risk of post-operative blood clots would be mitigated by wearing surgical stockings. Through the summer. She handed me a pair. They were very white and very tight. “Do they come in other colours?” I asked. “Olive-green, or maybe pink?” Sadly not’ https://t.co/6HNbfTUhKX
