Fox News Doctor Suggests Joe Biden May Be on ‘Speed’: Marc Siegel Biography, Wiki
Fox News contributor Marc Siegel suggested to Tucker Carlson on Monday night, September 21, that former Vice President Joe Biden may be taking “speed” or the ADHD medication Adderall.
Siegel’s speculation came during a segment about President Donald Trump’s continued insistence that both candidates take drug tests before their first debate, which is scheduled for Sept. 29.
Trump, too, days earlier at a rally, made a similar accusation, albeit in starker terms, when he claimed that doctors had given Biden a “big blow to the ass.” You can see the clip of Siegel making the incendiary suggestion here, via Fox News.
Carlson, who sometimes makes headlines, and loses advertisers, to inflammatory rhetoric on his prime-time show, opened Monday’s segment by lashing out at Biden for recent misstatements. On September 19, Biden wrongly said that 200 million people had died from coronavirus, Fox reported.
“Where does Joe Biden get his data from and who is his distributor,” Carlson said. “A lot of people are asking the question.”
Siegel, a physician who often appears on Fox shows, told Carlson that “many neurologists” have told him that Biden’s mistakes are probably not mistakes, but rather indicative of cognitive problems. “These are not isolated,” he said, also introducing his comments by admitting that he has not examined Biden and did not “have a clinical diagnosis to make.”
Siegel pointed to two brain aneurysms that Biden suffered in 1988, as reported by Delaware Online, and claimed that Biden’s cognitive abilities and “decision-making” may have been affected.
Then he suggested that Biden might be on “speed” or the ADHD drug Adderall.
So now President Trump says that we should do drug tests before debates, and I’m thinking, why would he be saying that? Let me tell you one reason, Tucker. There is a study that shows that for people who have mild memory or cognitive thinking problems, do you know what helps? Speed. Do you know what helps? Adderall, a drug I have prescribed for you.
These medications can help, in low doses, for short periods of time. At the Olympics, we are testing athletes. Baseball games, we don’t want anyone to play. We seek a competitive advantage. We are analyzing that. We want to make sure no one takes advantage. This may be the most important choice of our lives … A toad for the economy and a road, roadblocks … We must take the right path, Tucker.
At Trump’s rally in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Saturday, he also suggested that Biden might be taking performance enhancers, crudely.
“I have a debate with this guy,” Trump told his supporters. “You never know, you never know. They give him a big fat shot in the ass and he goes out. And for two hours, it’s better than ever. The problem is, what happens after that? Ah, look at that. Request a drug test. We are going to order a drug test. Both: He’ll take it, I’ll take it. ”
Biden responded to some of Trump’s earlier hints about drug testing.
“I’m looking forward to the debate and he’s a fool,” Biden said. “The comments are just silly. Prepare yourself, Mr. President. Here I come.”
