A brave retired firefighter was killed in a shootout while fighting against three car thieves in Chicago.
Dwain Williams, 63-year-old retired CFD Lt. Dwain Williams, was fatally shot at around 2 pm last Thursday during a car kidnapping attempt.
The incident occurred at the 2400 block of West 118th Street in the Beverly Woods district of Chicago.
CCTV footage shows Williams walking out of a shop and suddenly a car leaves and three suspects come out.
According to the police, at least three of them were armed.
The father of four, Williams finds his gun and begins shooting at the three attackers.
One of them hit Williams in the stomach before returning to the car.
Chicago Police are now applying for information.
“Detectives are looking for information to help identify suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a retired CFD Lieutenant on December 3, 2020,” they wrote on Twitter.
“Anyone with information should contact Field 2 Detectives at 312-747-8271 or post a tip anonymously to cpdtip.com.”
A minimum of $ 34,000 is offered as a reward for the information that led to the arrest.
According to the police, Williams was regularly going to the Morgan Park popcorn shop when the incident happened.
