Laura Nucatola, of East Meadow, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury. She allegedly hit the boy on Eastgate Road in Massapequa around 3:30 p.M. Sunday, leaving him with “multiple serious injuries,” police said. The boy was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Laura has been arrested in connection to a Long Island hit-and-run.
Police announced Tuesday night that 33-year-old Laura Nucatola is being charged with leaving the scene of an incident. She is set to be arraigned on Wednesday.
An 11-year-old boy suffered injuries after Nucatola allegedly hit him with a pickup truck on Sunday in his Massapequa Park neighborhood.
CBS2’s Carolyn Gusoff spoke exclusively to the victim’s mother on Tuesday before the suspect was arrested.
“He’s doing very poorly. He’s in a lot of pain and he can’t sleep and he can’t eat and he’s been crying a lot,” Marni Seletsky said.
Seletsky, the son of 11-year-old Max, who was cut off, did not leave the hospital bed, from head to toe, with more than one fracture, with a serious concussion and the Neighborhood.
“What kind of person would leave a little boy to bleed on the street and walk away?” Seletsky said.
The accident occurred on Sunday at 03:30 on East Gate Road. Max and a friend were using scooters when shot. The effect can be heard on the surveillance video.
Then, seconds later, a red van appears as it moves away.
“I heard a very high group, so I came to run to the door and saw a truck in front of my house, saw a red truck, and then accelerated,” said Kerri DeAngelo.
DeAngelo said that the crying boy was seriously injured and said, “He was constantly asking me, live? Will i live As a mother, as a human, it’s just sad to hear. You knew you hit somebody. ”
“He’s a monster. It is beyond my understanding that it has not yet come forward, ”Seletsky said on Tuesday afternoon. “Stop hiding because they’ll finally find you. We do not sleep, so we do not know how you can sleep. ”
Max told his family that he was driving on the sidewalk and saw the truck from afar, as he thought he was safely crossing the street from afar.
Doctors say that the child, who will start secondary school soon, will recover for months instead.
According to the police, the child was riding his motorcycle at 15:30 on Eastgat Road. On August 2, when East Meadow was hit by a pickup truck driven by 33-year-old Laura Nucatola from Hemlock Avenue.
Police said Nucatola had escaped from the scene. The boy was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. It is stable.
Nucatola is accused of leaving a scene of a serious injury. It is planned to be appointed later today.
