Larynzo Johnson is a Kentucky man who accused of shooting two police officers during demonstrations over the killing of Breonna Taylor has been indicted on 35 charges.
Larynzo D. Johnson, 26, was charged by the Jefferson County grand jury with two first-degree attacks and 33 first-degree immoral threats, news sources reported.
It is held on a $ 1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on 23 November.
Johnson was charged with shooting at police officers during protests on September 23, after the grand jury process led by State Attorney General Daniel Cameron made no charges of the shooting of Taylor by police. Instead, prosecutors announced that a single officer was charged with endangerment for firing on a house next to Taylor.
A press release from the Commonwealth’s Attorney Thomas B. Wine said Johnson endangered the protesters while injuring two officers. Louisville Metro Police Officer Robinson Desroches was shot in the stomach and Major Aubrey Gregory in the hip. Both officers have recovered since then.
Johnson was initially charged with 14 immoral dangers “all to police officers”, then interim chief Robert Schroeder previously said.
It is unclear whether Johnson has an attorney to comment on his behalf.
