A California man accused of kidnapping his daughter is now in custody, but the young child is still missing, according to the San Diego Police Department.
At around 5:30 p.m. on August 3, Lafayette Harris, 31, allegedly kidnapped his 2-year-old daughter, Charli-Fae Harris, from the Chollas View area, off of the 1000 block of 47th Street.
The San Diego Tribune reported that the police found the 2003 Saturn L200 white four-door sedan Harris’s car and detained it for hours on Monday, but was not with Charli-Fae and remained lost.
Charli-Fae is described as a mixed race woman, three feet long and weighing about 40 pounds. The shoulder length is brown hair and brown eyes, and it was last seen that she wore shiny silver shoes.
San Diego police spokesman Billy Hernandez said the police found his father’s car in the park building in Universal City.
Anyone who has any information about the child’s location should contact 911 immediately.
