A Florida woman is behind bars for her alleged participation in the shooting death of an Orlando Burger King employee.
on August 1, a woman became upset after her Burger King order took too long. She allegedly had her husband meet her at the fast-food restaurant, off of E. Colonial Drive in Orange County, where he shot recently-hired employee, Desmond Armond Joshua, 22.
Police arrested 31-year-old Ashley Mason on Wednesday and charged them with involvement in Joshua’s death.
Investigators said Mason ordered a $ 40 meal, but was furious when the line took too long. Even though his black sedan had a child in the passenger seat, he got out of the car, made threatening statements and behaved quarrily. A Burger King employee returned his money and asked to leave the facility.
Click Orlando reported that an eyewitness told the car that the service was backed up and customers had a longer wait time than usual to receive their orders.
Mason is finally gone, but not before threatening to make his “man” come back and get things done for him, according to his arrest statement.
Rodríguez Tormes came to the restaurant with a white truck, while Mason returned with his black sedan a few minutes after leaving the restaurant.
Rodríguez Tormes later allegedly “demanded to fight” Joshua. Joshua walked to the parking lot where the suspect “yoked [Joshua]” and began strangling, according to the arrest statement.
Eyewitnesses said they saw Mason aiming a gun at the victim, Rodríguez Tormes said, “If he touches me, catch him.” According to CBS 10 reports.
Rodríguez Tormes later told the researchers that Joshua saw “his wife had jumped over the black Honda Accord and was walking towards the door of his closed driver, whose window was still open.”
However, a witness said that a restaurant manager removed Rodríguez Tormes from Joshua, when he went to the suspect’s truck and then pointed a gun at the victim.
According to the arrest statement, Joshua Tormes said, “You have two seconds before I shoot you.”
Another witness said they saw Joshua raise his hands shortly before he was shot, and Rodríguez Tormes return from his truck.
“All I want to do is talk … If you really want to fight, get out of the car,” Joshua said shortly before the suspect hit her in the chest.
Police said that after the incident, Mason fled in the sedan, while Rodriguez Tormes fled with his truck. First responders rushed Joshua to AdventHealth Orlando East, where he was rumored to have died.
Mason now faces charges of first degree murder and aggravated firearm assault.
