Kealia Mae Ohai is an American soccer player who plays for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) since 2020. She previously played for the Houston Dash from 2014–2019.

Ohai scored the single winning goal in the final match of the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She made her international debut for the United States women’s national team in October 2016 for a friendly match against Switzerland and has further made three appearances for the team.

Early life

Ohai was born to Ben and Cindy Ohai and raised in Draper, Utah. Her sister, Megan, is a former youth national team member who played soccer at USC where she won the 2007 NCAA championship. Her father named her after Kealia Beach on the island of Kauai.

Her father’s name is Ben Ohai and her mother name is Cindy Ohai. She has a sister named Megan. She did her schooling from Alta High School, Sandy, Utah, USA and college studies from the University of North Carolina. She earned Parade All-American honors in 2010. Kealia Ohai is legally blind in her right eye. Currently, she is in a relationship with American Football player J. J. Watt.

Ohai, who graduated from Alta High School in June 2010, was a four-year varsity soccer player at the school. She led the team to four straight state soccer championships from 2006-2009. She was a two-time Gatorade state player of the year, three-time first-team high school All-America, three-time All-State selection, three-time 5A soccer MVP, and the 2010 NSCAA National High School Player of the year. In June 2010, she earned Parade All-American honors.

As a youth, Ohai also played club soccer for the Utah Avalanche. With the team, she won four state titles.

J.J. Watt, NFL superstar for the Houston Texans, and professional soccer player Kealia Ohai were married in a tropical Bahamas wedding Saturday, according to People magazine.

Friends shared snapshots of the sports stars’ wedding to social media.
Crystal Dunn, who plays for the US Women’s National Team and was Ohai’s teammate at the University of North Carolina, posted photos and video as part of an Instagram story. In one, she and her husband pose with the bride.
Ohai’s former Houston Dash teammate Amber Brooks posted a photo on her Instagram story of the bride pointing to the back of Watt’s collar where “Mr. Kealia Watt” was embroidered. Brooks also shared pictures and videos of the couple and their guests on the dance floor to her story.
An official for Watt’s NFL team appeared to post a photo of the event before taking it down.
