Juli Briskman Middle finger controversy
— shauna (@goldengateblond) November 6, 2019
Briskman was riding her bike when the Trump motorcade passed by. She decided to flip her middle finger as she rode her bicycle, which was caught on camera by the press photographer. Briskman had worked as a marketing analyst for Akima, LLC, a government contractor, for 8 months until she was fired for using the viral photo as her header. She sued for wrongful termination as another employee also had “obscene content” on his social media accounts but was allowed to remove it. Her claim was not upheld in court because Virginia’s at-will employment laws do not cover free speech. The judge granted the full severance pay she was owed.

Juli Briskman Won the Election
Juli Briskman gave the middle finger to President Trump’s motorcade and lost her job. Now she has won local office in a district that includes one of his golf courses.
The cyclist who lost her job after giving the middle finger to President Trump’s caravan found a new one after running for a local position and dismissing a Republican supervisor in Loudoun County, Virginia, on Tuesday.
The cyclist, Juli Briskman, had been active in local politics before, but in October 2017 she lifted that specific finger to make a point and ended up gaining national attention.
Mr. Trump had just finished a round of golf at his field in Potomac Falls, Virginia, when his caravan approached Mrs. Briskman, who, from the seat of his bicycle, kept his finger up when passing the black SUVs and he repeated the gesture when she reached them in traffic.
