Jason Hook is a Canadian guitarist, record producer, songwriter and session musician. He is best known as the current lead guitarist of the groove-metal band Five Finger Death Punch. He also appeared on an episode of “My Cat from Hell”.

In early 2009, it was announced that Hook was joining heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch, replacing guitarist Darrell Roberts. On September 22, 2009 Hook and his bandmates released War Is The Answer, which landed them a number 7 debut on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.

Hook appeared on the History Channel’s Counting Cars on July 9, 2013. He also appeared on an episode of “My Cat from Hell”.

Early Life and Career

Born in Toronto, Jason Hook started his music career at the age of 6 in nearby Oakville, Ontario with private guitar lessons. His early experience in formal music training also included drums, piano, and violin.

He spent many years in Canada to improve his craft and was eventually signed to Elektra with his band No Love Lost. The band recorded an album with producer Beau Hill (Winger) in Los Angeles, but unfortunately, the CD never saw the light of day. Now alone in Los Angeles as a session musician, he participated in the hard rock band BulletBoys. In 2000 he was engaged by the pop singer Hilary Duff as a guitarist in their live cast; He also served as a session guitarist who recorded tracks for her. Hook became a highly sought-after session player in LA, touring and recording with acts like Vince Neil Band and Alice Cooper.

In 2007, Hook released his debut instrumental hard rock/metal album Safety Dunce. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has postponed its December 12 concert in Duluth, Minnesota “due to a medical emergency” involving the band’s guitarist Jason Hook. A new date for the postponed show has not yet been announced.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was scheduled to perform at the Amsoil Arena in Duluth Thursday night.

The groove-metal band was due to perform at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center on Thursday evening.

However, the DECC announced via a tweet just after 5:30 p.m. that the show would be postponed.

The reason is because of a “medical emergency with Jason Hook,” the bands lead guitarist.
