According to Wyandotte County prison records, Olivia’s father Howard Jansen III was arrested on Friday night and charged with suspicion of first degree murder and child abuse. On Saturday, the police arrested his girlfriend Jacqulyn Kirkpatrick. He is also charged with suspected first degree murder and child abuse.
Instead of calling Jansen 911, as CrimeOnline previously reported, he walked to a police department at 8:30 am on Friday morning to report that his daughter was missing. He said he was last seen at their home on Gibbs Road in Kansas City.
It is reported that Jansen woke up at 5:30 in the morning and claimed that he found an open door in the house. He said Olivia was missing.
Kansas City PD spokesperson Tom Tomasic said on Friday that authorities heard “several stories throughout the day” but “none of them made sense.”

The tips eventually led the researchers to a forested hiking trail near 34th Street and Steele Road. On Friday at 5:45 pm, the police found the little girl’s body on her trail, about nine blocks from her home.
It is unclear how long Olivia died and the cause of death is still pending. Tomasic could not interpret whether the authorities found trauma in the child’s body.
On Saturday, the community gathered to mourn the loss of Olivia, who was described as a bright and loving little girl.
“She is a loving child and very, very, very smart. She was a very smart 3-year-old, ”says Olivia’s grandmother, Vickie Saindon.
The biological mother of Olivia, currently imprisoned, watched the watch through the video, according to Fox 4.
