Incident at London Bridge Updates, Major Incident Declared as Police shoot man dead after Several Stabbing, Many Gunshots Fired

Incident at London Bridge Updates

Police shot and killed a man on the London Bridge after several people were stabbed in what the Metropolitan Police called a “terrorist incident.”
The video shows a man, apparently the suspect, fighting with members of the public on the ground. While trying to get up, he seems to be hit by gunfire and collapses on the ground.
You could see a man in a suit and jacket moving away from the man who had taken a large knife. After at least two shots are heard, passengers can be heard shouting, with a shout, “What the hell, they killed him.”
The anti-terrorist police have taken over the investigation when Scotland Yard confirmed that the incident was treated as a terrorist attack.
Videos from the scene purported to show bystanders tackling the suspect to the ground, taking his knife and pinning him down before police intervened.
The London Mayor Sadiq Khan confirmed that some of those stabbed have been “seriously injured” as he applauded the “breathtaking heroism” of bystanders “who literally ran towards danger” not knowing what it was they were faced with.

What we know so far

  1. One man shot dead by armed police
  2. A number of people have been stabbed
  3. Police treating incident as terror attack
  4. Boris Johnson returning to London from home constituency

The condition of those injured is unknown at this stage.
Neil Basu, the UK’s head of counter-terrorism, held a press conference outside New Scotland Yard to give an update on the attack just before 4.30pm.
He declined to answer questions from journalists, insisting he was heading to brief Boris Johnson.

The Metropolitan Police tweeted: “We are currently dealing with an incident at London Bridge. Please stand by for updates.”
Police have later confirmed there were five casualties from the incident, including the suspect who was shot by police.
Emergency services have been called to London Bridge amid reports of shots being fired at the London tourist attraction.
London ambulance service said it had crews at the scene.
He continued: “Police have now cleared the bridge, everybody has been told to move back and now on the northern side of the bridge, but there are more shots going on.
“I can’t see what’s happening now because we’ve been moved out of the way but there are shots going on, and you probably hear the police sounds as well.
“Everybody has cleared the area, the entire bridge has been moved, and right on the northern part of the bridge, right up until quite near the Bank of England, is being cleared.”
