In addition to modeling, Chung, born in South Korea, worked in retail. For more than a year or so, he worked as a store manager at the Opening Ceremony at Hotel Ace. When his career as a model expanded and required a more flexible schedule, he switched to the SoHo store part-time. In a joint statement issued Wednesday, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Opening Ceremony said: “Hunter was a beloved part of the OC family. He was a kind and caring soul, and a mentor and friend to many of the staff members here. He had a great passion for the arts and culture. He pursued his desire to model while staying connected with all the relationships he made here in OC. We’re going to miss him a lot. ”

Chung modeled for a variety of companies and designers, such as walking the Kith and Bode catwalk, as well as Ozwald Boateng in the first British designer parade in New York in February. Levi’s, Converse and Tommy Jeans were also among the brands he worked for. He earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts and sciences, and general studies and humanities at the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
