Millionaire pharmaceutical executive and socialite Gigi Jordan will be going home after a federal judge tossed out her conviction for killing her son with a lethal medication dose.
The New York Post reported that Jordan was sentenced to house arrest after handing out a $ 250,000 bond to US Magistrate Judge Sarah Cave. A new trial took place in Jordan in September after his team successfully defended their denial of rapid trial rights.
According to The New York Times, Jordan was first convicted for the death of his autistic son Jude Mirra in 2014. Jordan admitted to giving the boy a lethal dose of medication. He was later sentenced to 18 years behind bars.
Jordan alleged that she thought her ex-husband was trying to kill her and Jude and feared that her son would fall under the custody of her father, her first husband Jordan, whom she suspected would sexually abusive her. Both men denied their allegations.

A jury finally found Jordan guilty of manslaughter. Cave overturned the conviction after the now retired Supreme Court Judge Charles Solomon briefly closed the courtroom for a hearing requested by a prosecutor. The case found that Jordan had violated the Sixth Amendment right.
According to Cave, New York, “The trial court’s closing of the courtroom was deliberate over numerous, heavy objections from Jordan’s attorney, and was actually a closure that the court agreed after the fact that it might actually be wrong,” Cave wrote. Daily News.
“In the Jordan case, in accordance with clearly established Supreme Court case law, the Sixth Amendment public trial right was applied to the Closed Trial.”
Jordan will be staying at a residence in New York while his case is being examined.
