Fidan Ekiz Bio: Born in Rozenburg, December 10, 1976, is a Dutch journalist, presenter, and documentary maker.

Ekiz studied journalism in Utrecht, after which she started working for the Rotterdams Dagblad.  After the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Ekiz reported from the Turkish-Iraqi border and later became the successor to Jessica Lutz as a correspondent on behalf of RTL News and the newspapers of the Associated Press Services in Istanbul. Hereafter, she exchanged her job as a reporter for a job as an editor at Pauw & Witteman . During the summer break of this program in 2010, Ekiz honored her Turkish family  the five-part documentary Ferry to Holland about five Turkish families who emigrated to the Netherlands. For this, she interviewed her own parents. In 2016 she made the six-part documentary De Pen & Het Zwaard about press freedom in six very different countries. From September 2018 she presents the television program De Nieuwe Maan. From 11 October 2018, she is on show in Vrouw op Mars, a 6-part reportage series about feminism, by BNNVARA.
Ekiz was also featured in the Women & Horse discussion program, and since 2012 she has been working regularly as a table lady at De Wereld Draait Door and WNL.
From 2013 to 2017, Ekiz was married to Wierd Duk.
In 2017 she was awarded the Clear Language Award.
