Edward Rodriquez, 28, died from injuries suffered during a Sunday shooting at a San Antonio flea market.
According to the Bexar County Medical Examination Office, 28-year-old Edward Rodriquez died from a bullet wound in his abdomen. He was announced dead shortly after Sunday afternoon.
Rodriguez succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital following the suspected incident targeted at the Mission Open Air Market on 707 Moursund Avenue.
In an update released by the SAPD on Monday, officers said a total of four people were shot and all of them were transferred to hospitals for treatment. The other three men, aged 27, 19, and 14, who were injured, are currently unknown.
SAPD Chief William McManus said that multiple shooters were involved, one of them was a security guard who fired on a hitman.
The injured men were found in three separate areas of the parking lot, and shell casings were scattered around the scene.
Preliminary information stated that the weapons were found on the ground and inside the vehicles.
The SAPD said on Monday that there were no arrests and that the case is still under investigation.
According to the police, an unknown type of conflict arose in the conflict.
“At this point, we don’t believe the people shot were innocent bystanders,” said McManus.
