Edawn Coughman is an American football offensive tackle who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Dodge City Community College before transferring to Shaw University. He has played for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins and Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL).

Coughman attended Tri-Cities High School in East Point, Georgia. He then attended Dodge City Community College.

He then transferred to Shaw University, where he played for the Shaw Bears from 2008 to 2010. He earned First Team All-CIAA honors in 2009 and 2010. Coughman was named a Division II All-American by the Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) in 2009. He was also named an Honorable Mention Black College Football All-American by in 2009. He garnered Third Team Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-Super Region I recognition in 2010. Caughman earned CIAA Offensive Lineman of the Week accolades three times in 2010. He was also named to the 2010 HBUC Bowl. The Bears won the CIAA Championship in 2010. He majored in Recreation Studies at Shaw.

Caughman played in nine games for the Toronto Argonauts during the 2011 season. He was released in May 2012.

After being released by the Argonauts, Coughman was signed by the Seattle Seahawks on June 18, 2012. He was released in August 2012.

Coughman was signed by the Dallas Cowboys on May 13, 2013. He was released on August 30, 2013.

Three days later, Coughman was signed to the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad. He was signed to a reserve/future contract by the Bills on December 30, 2013. The Bills released Coughman on August 19, 2014.

Authorities from the Gwinnett County Police Department in Georgia responded to a ‘burglary in progress’ call around 9.30pm on Wednesday when a witness reported a man damaging businesses.

The two businesses, Create and Bake Restaurant and Coughman’s Creamery, belonged to former NFL player and local business owner Edwan Coughman.

Inside the businesses, officers found ‘monkey’, the n-word, ‘MAGA’ and swastikas scrawled on the walls in fresh black spray paint.

‘The smell of spray paint was very fresh. When officers touched it, the paint appeared wet,’ a news release from police said.

The cushions were reportedly sliced open, mirrors were broken, wires were cut, TVs were missing and the surveillance system was broken.
