Dominique James Wiki – Dominique James Biography
Dominique James, 13 people were shot during a memorial gathering for the 29-year-old who was found dead on May 8 after being missing for six days.
According to Bogalusa police, James had been missing since May 2, when he was last seen before searching for a four-wheeled vehicle. Police say it was around noon when he went to an unknown location in his white GMC Yukon Denali, towing a trailer.
On May 8, James’ body was found in his car in a wooded area a few miles west of Bogalusa, according to the local WDSU news station.
A memorial service for James was held on May 16. According to the Associated Press, it was an unofficial meeting, as crowds are banned at this time during the coronavirus pandemic.
However, police said there was an “extremely large crowd of people gathered” to remember James when they arrived on the scene to respond to reports of shooting.
“The best we can say is that a car passed and shots were fired and it was pure chaos from there,” Bogalusa police commander Troy Tervalon told the AP.
According to the Bogalusa police, 13 people had been shot and one was in critical condition. No eyewitness has released information on who opened fire at the funeral, they said in a statement released May 17.
The investigation is open and active, so investigators aren’t releasing much information to the public about the murder or the subsequent shooting, but they told the AP that the scene was so chaotic with about 150 people there that the shooting victims ended up going to different hospitals. The police were still working to interview them all.
