Dawn Bayley Biography
The 38-year-old ordered a meal from KFC via the delivery website Deliveroo as a birthday treat for her 11-year-old daughter.
What Happened to KFC Delivery
A confusion entering his address online meant that the family was hungry and disbursed £ 28.29.
A confused delivery driver reprimanded Dawn angrily over the phone, telling him that he could not deliver the food to his current address, but that he would still be charged the full bill.
She said: “I was going to the hospital the next day, which was Erica’s birthday, so we decided to be treated last night and I wanted KFC.”
“I put this address but my phone is linked to my previous address … so somehow it changed to that, but it left both house numbers.
“The delivery driver called me because he had gone to [Dawn’s previous address]. I realized what had happened and explained that I was very sorry. I asked him if he could still deliver it. I offered to pay more for his fuel and told him that if it was cold it would be my fault, but he said he could not and would not pay me back.
“I don’t understand why nobody called to verify the address when there were two house numbers in the order, obviously there was an error.
“I was really angry. The only reason to get a takeaway was my daughter’s birthday. Finally, I ended up going to Just Eat and ordering pizza, and spending another £ 20. ”
She said: “I was fuming. It’s daylight robbery. It was my technical error so if it turned up late and cold I didn’t mind that, but I should still get the food.
“I usually use Just Eat or Foodhub and I’ve never had this problem with them. It was the first time and the last time I will use Deliveroo.”
