The gunman who shot and killed two FBI agents while they were serving a federal search warrant in a child pornography investigation Tuesday has been identified as 55-year-old David Lee Huber, the FBI said in a news release.

Two FBI agents were killed and three agents wounded as they executed a search warrant in Sunrise, Florida. About 6 a.m. a team approached the apartment of a suspect in violent crimes against children case. That suspect was alerted to the police presence by his ring doorbell. He then opened fire with an assault-type gun.

As Wikiglobals reported, Special Agents Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger both died in an early-morning shooting. Three more agents were injured and two required hospitalization.

Executing search warrants is “an essential and important part of what we do and are thoroughly researched and meticulously planned to take into account any threats or dangers,” he said. “The vast majority of these warrants occur without incident.”
