He reported today that 41-year-old Melvin first shared news about his brother’s diagnosis in an episode of the show in 2017.

At that time, he announced that doctors had removed a baseball-sized tumor from his abdomen in October 2016, but discovered that the cancer had already spread.

Meadows told Today in 2018: “I think when people hear” cancer, “they often think,” Oh my God, I’ve done whatever I want to do, go ahead and let me yield to that. “But no, throw me in a towel or. There’s no piece of fiber that gives up because it’s not part of my DNA. ‘

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society, excluding skin cancers.

After the tragic death of beloved Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, the dangers of colorectal cancer have attracted even more attention. He died on 28 August at the age of 43.

Like many other diseases, colon cancer disproportionately affects African Americans.

African Americans are twice as likely to develop early-onset colon cancer than white people, Dr Scott Kopetz, who treats Meadows and is an oncologist at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, told Today in 2017.

The American College of Gastroenterology shared: ‘The college regrets hearing that Lawrence Meadows died of colon cancer at the age of 43.

In Spring 2018, Mr. Meadows shared his journey with ACG MAGAZINE and we were inspired by his determination. He emphasized that the person should learn about the family history in order to take preventive measures such as a CRC screening. ‘

The news of Melvin’s brother came just days after Today show host Bobbie Thomas lost her husband, Michael Marion, at the age of 42.

The 46-year-old style editor made the following statement in an Instagram post last Sunday: ‘Nothing is normal. Maybe nothing will ever be normal again. It won’t be for me. My husband is gone. ‘

Michael’s death came after he suffered a stroke in May last year. The deceased lawyer’s obituary said he died after a ‘heroic struggle’ on Tuesday. He adds: ‘He had a smile that brightened every room he entered.’

While sharing three photos with her husband Thomas, she added: “With all the fear, anger and division in the world going on right now, it’s easy to be saddened by the absence of normality.

But I beg you, everyone reading this should cling to what they have now rather than focusing on what they don’t have.

The only thing we all have is goodness. Absorb, stretch, consume. ‘

Marion was an attorney graduated from the University of Michigan, George Washington Law School, and NYU Law School.
