Cpl. Jacob Miskill Biography, Jacob Miskil Wiki
Cpl. Jacob Miskill, a five-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, was arrested Friday and suspended without pay stemming from the late April incident, police say.
A Maryland police officer faces numerous theft charges after saying that his boss may have “stolen firearms and other property” from a house where his department was investigating a death.
“The actions of this individual are against the sacred vows that we, as Police Officers, take to protect and serve our community and to protect the laws of the state of Maryland,” Chief William Lowry said in a statement. Badges and actions worn by each Anne Arundel County Police Officer are inexcusable. ”
The department said that Lowry received information that Miskill “might have stolen firearms and other property” when responding to a residence in Pasadena, where an unattended death took place.
An internal investigation was launched and then detained after Miskill’s search and seizure order was executed in his own home.
The police did not disclose what he found at the officer’s home, but he was charged, among other crimes, with three charges of theft and abuse of office.
“When a police officer uses the badge’s authority to facilitate any kind of criminal activity, this police officer undermines law enforcement everywhere,” said County Administration Steuart Pittman.
