Circe Nena Baez, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is being held at the Pitt County Detention Center following her arrest in Charlotte, according to FBI.

Alexis Morales was arrested Sunday at a Charlotte, North Carolina, hotel. Investigators believe pink lady (Circ Nena Baez) robbed four banks and Morales was an accomplice.

The FBI has arrested a woman and an alleged accomplice suspected of robbing at least four banks along East Coast, including one in Ayden last week, authorities said.

A woman wearing black and white yoga pants, a black tank top and a blue ball cap and carrying a pink handbag robbed the Southern Bank in Ayden about 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities reported. She passed the teller a note requesting $50 and $100 bills. She never showed a weapon, but the note threatened harm.

The woman matched the description of a robber dubbed the “Pink Lady Bandit” who had hit several banks between Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She was described as white or Hispanic, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds.

Suspects Criminal History

The first robbery occurred at the Orrstown Bank located in Carlisle, Pa., on July 20, the second on July 23 at the M&T Bank in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Those were followed by the one in Ayden then another at the BB&T at 8 Raleigh St., Hamlet, on July 26.

Suspect Bank Robbers Arrested

An FBI news release says 36-year-old Circe Baez and 38-year-old Alexis Morales were arrested Sunday at a Charlotte, North Carolina, hotel. Investigators believe Baez robbed four banks and Morales was an accomplice.

Both suspects are being charged with the two robberies in North Carolina. They may face additional charges.

Baez also is charged by the Carlisle Police Department. Both Baez and Morales are likely facing additional charges from other state agencies and perhaps federal charges in connection to the cases, the release said.

Baez and Morales are charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

FBI Investigation Reports

Evidence gathered during the course of the investigation by the FBI, the Greenville Police Department, the Ayden Police Department, Hamlet Police Department, Carlisle Police Department and the Delaware State Police led agents and task force officers to identify Baez as the woman captured by surveillance cameras during the robberies.

An FBI news release said agents and officers uncovered additional evidence after the robbery in Hamlet to identify Morales as an accomplice to the crimes, the release said.

On Sunday, investigators located the two at the Charlotte Speedway Inn & Suites, 1408 W. Sugar Creek Road. Members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s violent criminal apprehension team took the suspects into custody without incident, the release said.
