Chiranjeevi Sarja was an Indian film actor who appeared in Kannada films. He was the brother of actor Dhruva Sarja, nephew of actor Arjun Sarja and grandson of veteran Kannada actor Shakti Prasad.
Chiranjeevi Sarja, a famous Indian actor, has passed away at the age of 39.
Sarja, who starred in 20 films including the popular “Amma I Love You,” died of a heart attack, according to B.S. Yediyurappa, chief minister of Karnataka.
“It is a shock to hear the news that famous Kannada artist, Shri Chiranjeevi Sarja, died of a heart attack. Premature death at an age of just 39 years is shocking. My prayers are with the family, may God give them the strength to endure this grief,” Yediyurappa tweeted on Sunday.
Sarja, who also starred in “Whistle,” and “Varadanayaka,” came from a family of actors. He is the nephew of Tamil actor Arjun Sarja and grandson of veteran actor Shakti Prasad, according to the Hindustan Times. He married actress Meghana Raj in 2018.
Following the news of his death, many of Sarja’s fans began posting their condolences on his last Instagram post, which featured his brother, Dhruva Sarja, who is also a famous Kannada actor.
“A tragic loss to Indian cinema,” one fan commented. “We all miss you.”

Early life

Sarja was born in Bangalore. He completed his schooling in Baldwin Boys High School, Bangalore before graduating from Vijaya College, Bangalore. He worked as an assistant director with his uncle Arjun Sarja for about 4 years.

Career

Sarja acted in 22 films, beginning with the 2009 film Vayuputra which was directed by his uncle Kishore Sarja and earned him the Innovative Film Award for Best Debut (Male). A number of his films were remakes of other language films, including the action film Varadhanayaka (2013), the supernatural thriller Whistle (2013), the horror-comedy Chandralekha (2014), the action film Rudra Tandava (2015) and the action-thriller Amma I Love You (2018).

Personal life

In October 2017, he was engaged to actress Meghana Raj. They got married in a Christian ceremony on 30 April 2018, followed by a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 2 May 2018 at Palace Grounds.

Death

On 6 June 2020, Sarja suffered convulsions and complained of breathlessness. On 7 June, he developed chest pain and collapsed around 1:10 p.m. He was taken to a private hospital in Jayanagar in “an unresponsive state”; the doctors declared him dead at 3:48 p.m., citing cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
