Snopes.com disproved the story as completely fabricated, but Rispoli went ahead and shared it on his Facebook page with a threatening comment.
Hi Arthur Lawson @cityofgretnan – please tell us you’ve fired @CharlieRispoli, (without pay & having confiscated his weapons, of course) & contacted @FBI yourself.
It would be a lot easier for you than taking all of our calls at 504-366-4374. https://t.co/svE0y5q3Dl

Charlie Rispoli Facebook Post
After reading a false headline on Facebook, a Louisiana police officer suggested Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York, should be shot. His Facebook post, which was spotted by the news site NOLA.com over the weekend, comes amid heightened scrutiny of from police officers nationwide.

The post was taken down by Friday afternoon and Rispoli’s page appeared to be deactivated by Saturday, nola.com reported.
The Police chief told nola.com that he was disturbed by the post.
“I will tell you this: This will not go unchecked,” he told the Web site. “I’m not going to take this lightly and this will be dealt with on our end. It’s not something we want someone that’s affiliated with our department to make these types of statements. That’s not going to happen.”
Hope the @FBI is going after officer Charlie Rispoli. Imagine what would happen to a #POC if they made a comment on Facebook calling for officer Charlie Rispoli to be shot. You know Chief Arthur Lawson is going to put this white cop on desk duty then sweep it under the rug.

Lawson said the comment appeared to violate the department’s social media policy but said he didn’t think it rose to the level of being a threat.
“Whether you agree or disagree with the message of these elected officials and how frustrated you may or may not get, this certainly is not the type of thing that a public servant should be posting,” he said.
The chief said the department’s internal affairs office would look into the matter. If any disciplinary measures are taken against Rispoli, they won’t be made public, he said.
