Prior to his death, on June 30, the soldier Vanessa Guillen, who was buried in three shallow graves near the Leon River, about 40 km from Fort Hood, was killed. His body was shattered and charred.
The suspect Cecily Aguilar is currently in prison in connection with Guillen’s death. Fort Hood soldier Aaron Robinson, another suspect in Guillen’s death, shot himself in the head while being pursued by police after discovering the remains of the authorities.
On June 19, Fort Hood soldier Gregory Morales was found dead in a field in Killeen, Texas, less than 16km from Fort Hood. His clothes were found scattered around the area and in pieces. In connection with Morales’s death, no suspect has yet been named, but officials said the crime was involved.
On July 21, 26-year-old Pvt. Mejhor Morta was also found dead in Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The sheriff’s department said in a news release that the preliminary autopsy showed Morta might have been drowned. However, the investigation continues.

“The numbers are very high here,” McCarthy said. “These are, in most cases, the highest for sexual assault, harassment, and murders for our entire formation – for the US Army.”
I am angry, disappointed, disappointed, broken hearts. Vanessa was our teammate; We disappoint him, disappoint his family, and it hurts… We will do everything we can to prevent these kinds of things from happening again, to learn from it, and to move on. “
