Beatrice Ann Victor, who championed the goal of aging gracefully and in good health by establishing the annual Senior Olympics of Staten Island now named for her, died Saturday morning in Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Albertville.

Beatrice Victor Early Life, Career
Born in Worcester, Mass., on Sept. 28, 1921, Mrs. Victor served as a U.S. Navy nurse and a private practice nurse before her marriage to Melvin B. Victor, a physician. She lived on Lighthouse Hill, in Sunnyside and West Brighton before becoming a resident of the Esplanade for seniors in Bulls Head three years ago.
Beatrice Victor Awards and Honors
Named an Advance Woman of Achievement in 1980, Mrs. Victor also supported numerous programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Survivors include two daughters, Maura Neligan and Lois Victor; a son, Ron; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
